The purpose of the role:

  • As a SEND Support, you may be qualified or have experience with SEND children. You will be allocated to one or more children with special educational needs and / or disabilities and be expected to carry out specific Individualised support for the child/ren.
  • A SEND Support is responsible for designated child/ren.  They will implement advice and activities provided by the designated outside agencies within their SEN support sessions, taking into consideration the funded hours provided and parents’ wishes.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the children allocated to you have their individual needs met & you deliver a high standard of professional care & education in a caring, safe & secure environment in which all children can play, learn and develop.
  • Assess, plan, do and review following the SEND graduated approach procedure.
  • Provide detailed feedback to child/ren key Person / SENCO keeping them informed of the child’s wellbeing and progress to ensure this is communicated effectively to the parents.
  • Liaise with outside agencies working alongside the child/ren under your care when appropriate i.e. SALT, Physio, SEND advisors.

 

Hours

  • 7.45am – 5.45pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 
  • 27 hours per week
  • Fixed term contract until 31<sup>st</sup> August 2020

Salary

  • Unqualified Nursery Nurse £14,000 to Qualified L3 Nursery Nurse Scale £19,000. But proata is £8894 to £12070.

 

“The employment is conditional upon receipt of SEN Funded hours. In the event that the hours are withdrawn, or the child leaves the nursery, Cherry Childcare will endeavour to offer the candidate an alternative position where possible. In cases where this is not possible, the employment will be terminated.”
